      whoever wrote this article needs to do some research about the law before they decide to write about it publicly. I couldnt get past number 1. Thats not a new law, its an old one. Its in the state constitution. And its not a crazy law. According to the state law, navicable (sorry cant spell) water bodies are subject to public use and are property of the state (unless you can trace your ownership to before louisiana became a state). the law discussed is important because parts of the state flood seasonally, or flood during natural disasters. If this law didnt exist then the entire city of new orlenes would have become public property during katrina. thats why the law uses ‘ordinarily high water mark.’
